Initial Thoughts: Positive but some rough spots..., December 2, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Asus VG278H 27-Inch 3D Full-HD LED Monitor with Integrated Stereo Speakers (Personal Computers) Quick caveat - I've had this monitor for a couple of weeks, but my new computer to take advantage of the 3D didn't arrive until a couple of days ago. I did use it as a screen for my laptop previously, but have just started to use it more intensively for the purposes it's designed for. So this is a quick and dirty review of the positives and negatives so far, and may change after more use:
Here are the positives:
Great looking - it's not as sleek as the Samsung 3D monitors, but it's clean with a pretty thin bezel.
Solid physical construction - also exceedingly easy to attach to the base.
Physical buttons, not touch sensitive buttons - although for some reason being under the bottom edge feels awkward. Still, they're solid buttons.
Height adjustment (somewhat rare for a monitor this size, I gather) - very easy to raise and lower the monitor.
Matte finish, not glossy.

Hardware:
Easy setup, all relevant cables included except for HDMI. Monitor has height and tilt adjustment with a sturdy stand. Didn't even need to use the monitor setup buttons. Because the screen is large for its resolution, some of you will notice the pixels, but will forget about it as soon as you fire up a supported 3D game. Included instructions for the 3d vision 2 glasses from Nvidia are from the previous generation glasses. It is not a big deal, the power on button on the glasses is by the left eye lens, and make sure you charge it first from the USB cable included - that's all you need to know.
Gaming:
You have to see it to believe it! Colors are bright and vibrant, and the 3D is something that should not be missed - by anyone who likes PC gaming. Make sure you update your Nvidia drivers and use the DVI cable included. You have to set the resolution of each game to the native... Read more

I researched for 3 months and decided to spend a little more money than I wanted, but I am glad I did. I upgraded from a 23 inch Asus LED monitor, and this thing blows it out of the water. The colors are great, no dead pixels, 120hz makes all the games I used to play so much funner. If you are unsure about this monitor, don't be. Get this and you well be very happy. This is my second Asus monitor and I am sure my next one is also going to be Asus.
